Klinkt leuk, een wereldhit hit maken, maar zie vervolgens nog maar eens van de titel 'de zanger van dat liedje' af te komen. John Miles kan dit bevestigen. Mneer Ashcroft had de mazzel dat die grote hit op naam van z'n bandje kwam. De deuntjes die hij daarna onder zijn eigen naam uitbracht braken desondanks aanzienlijk minder potten. Maar de liefhebber herkent de fraaie stem, en de gave om mooie liedjes te maken.
